If it’s the first time you’ve had some TommyBars out on your job, we prefer to have one of our recommended operators on your crew for the hire period. A bit like hiring a balloon or another specialist piece of kit, but you can rely on our operator to work with your electricians as an all-rounder too. As lighting crews get acquainted with TommyBars and how to rig them quickly and optimally, we will look at dry hire.

Once your rigger has got the ladder beam on the basket of your machine of choice, it’d take our operator and another pair of hands about 45 minutes to get a set of 16x TommyBars ready to fly.

We’ve done everything we can to minimise the weight of a TommyBars rig. All we need from your rigging department is a ladder beam that’s a bit longer than rig that you want, attached to the basket at the angle you want the TommyBars. 9’ or 10’ for a SIMPLE 8x, 18’ for a WIDE 16x.

Just like any equipment hire contract, your hired kit from TommyBars Limited must be covered by your production insurance policy from the moment it leaves our base until it returns to TommyBars Limited.
